Brewer’s world is split into two: the Skilled and the Unskilled. Among the Skilled, there are two types: Barrons and Healers. Barrons are the fighters, the badasses of the story. Soulbroken
I was so excited to read this novel. After seven years of waiting for this book to come out, I was so ready to find out what was going to happen next and get some questions answered. I wanted to know how Darius and Kaya were soulbound, and why he kept it a secret. I wanted to know who this Gage guy was. I wanted to know more about King Darrek and what his deal was. And I really wanted to know who-if anyone-Kaya would choose. Soulbroken answered all of my questions in the most entertaining and satisfying way possible.
This book starts off with an explosion of emotions! That confrontation between Trayton and Darius-oof. It took me an hour to read the first chapter because I kept freaking out and had to write down my thoughts. These characters are just so interesting and entertaining to read about. But it was really painful to see what was happening with Trayton. I was so shocked about his actions and words at times. Then Darius was as cool and sarcastic as always, but we also got to see his vulnerable side in this book and it was GLORIOUS. Seriously, I was smiling and crying during these moments.
